  • Write about a memorable gift you’ve prepared for someone special. 

  • Have students write about taking care of a garden.  What care is necessary in building and maintaining a garden?

  • Write about surprises.  Have you ever been to a surprise party or had one thrown for you? Have you ever helped plan a surprise party? What's the best surprise you ever gave someone? What's the best surprise you've ever received?

  • Writing prompt:  Do flowers make a good gift?  Why or why not?
